Spielen refers to Friedrich Schiller’s program of aesthetic education as an entry point for inquiring into the premises of subjecthood within the philosophy of art. The installation assembles pedagogical materials alongside a sound composition that resists tonality in Western classical music. These elements are enveloped by a printed backdrop in which a moving shadow repeatedly traverses foreground and background, persistently obscuring the subject.
