Shaped after the first Brazilian crown (D. Pedro I’s), this knock-off jewel of aged, twisted chicken wire covered in resin and braided with Turkish yarn was developed for Rite of Passage, leo’s graduation project. This performative object is worn during The be_coming to explore material-based authority and the transformation of fragile, impoverished materials into an emblem of ceremonial status.

In a later presentation, the Crown was mounted on a plinth with a silkscreen print akin to the piece ghost (2025), linking object and paper-based research and connecting documentation of performative practices and their renewed exhibition.
